Name: Chaquis Maliq (Sha-Keese Malik) Talents: Singing, Producing and Writing Contact: www.myspace.com/chaquis Born and raised in the liberal city of San Francisco, CA, began her passion in music by singing in her church choir. Chaquis developed her talents naturally. Surrounded by diverse voices and acoustic instruments, Chaquis began to pick up different singing styles and playing instruments such as the piano and drums by ear and by site. She then focused on her lyrical skills by performing original poetry in talent shows, poetry slams, open mic and getting involved in Colored Ink Productions in San Francisco. Since relocating to the East Coast, she has educated herself in digital production and completed her demo, The Demonstration, Vol. 1 without any assistance. |

Name: Tyger Madenda Talents: Acting, Singing, & Theatrical technical skills Contact: tygerndarkness@mac.com Tyger is an Afro-Cubana Native American artists and activist who has been a part of Colored Ink since its conception in 2001. She is also an alumni of the San Francisco Running Crew since 2000. Tyger writes, sings, acts, directs, and even plays a lil music. She has worked in small and mid sized theater venues around the bay as a light and sound board operator, stage manager, crew member, etc. Tyger currently sits on the Colored Ink Advisory Board, BRAVA! For Women in the Arts Board, and is the Tech-Coordinator of MCCLA, (Mission Cultural Center for Latino Arts.) She gives thanks to her mommy & granny, to her brothers for all their love, support, and all the stuff brothers do to little sisters, and a shout out to Frisco & the Bay, to all the people trying to unite and make a change, & to the brothas and sistahs in her life that keep her going. Name: Jeremy Tagle Bautista Talents: Acting, Dancing, & Hip Hop Emceeing Contact: Kilusan1898@yahoo.com Jeremy Tagle Bautista is a native San Francisco based writer, performance artist and arts educator who mixes the fields of street poetry, Hip Hop emceeing, dance and interpretive movement, martial arts and guerilla theater to be on the threshold of innovative and thought-provoking art for personal liberation, social justice and human rights. He has shared the literary stage with distinguished writers such as Jack Hirshman's poetic blade of steal (May, 2003 at North Beach, SF) to Jessica Hagedorn's challenge to post-modernist literature (Oct., 2003 at Bindlestiff Studio, SF). He has performed in established Jazz and poetry venues from the NuYorican Poets Cafe in New York (Mar., 1999); Kimball's East in Oakland (Feb., 2005); Bay Area Hip Hop Theater Festival (May 2005); Tagalog on Site Closing Ceremony in the Philippines (July, 1999); community festivals and cultural events throughout the Bay Area such as The first annual Asian Heritage Street Fair in SF (May 2005 & 2006) and Fiesta Filipina in SF (June 2005); Chicago, Los Angeles, Seattle and Santa Cruz. He has participated in diverse artistic collectives that have greatly influenced his artistic creativity and collaborations such as: 8th Wonder, Dream Cypher Productions, Soul Searchers Entertainment, Colored Ink, Rainbow Theater, JUICE, Riot Act Theatre, and Burton H.S. Name: Toya Willock Talents: Acting, Deejaying, & Singing Contact: www.smoothmotiondj.com Toya Willock is a 22-year-old performing actress and singer who is also a 3rd year student at San Francisco State University, participating in the university's gospel choir. Toya has had the lead roles as Dorothy in "The Wiz" as well as "Cinderella" in a revised version done by the African American Shakespeare Company. She is a wonderful dancer and is particularly great with the kids. On her downtime, Toya loves to perform and write songs. |

Name: Jonathan Smothers Talents: Acting, Dancing, & Singing Contact: jholdsit@yahoo.com Jonathan Smothers is an Oakland native with a heap of ambition. He started singing at the tender age of 10 with YEN (Youth Entertainment Network) based out of Hunter's Point, San Francisco. He went on to join the Performing Arts Academy at Skyline High School where he starred in musicals and plays including South Pacific and A Raisin in the Sun. During high school, he simultaneously earned straight A's and acted with Walnut Creek's Belasco Theater Company. He now attends San Francisco State University where he studies Communications and will earn his degree in June 2008. His life goal is to encourage peace, empowerment and the love of music. He plans to do so with activism, education, writing and gut singing. |

Jennifer now lives in San Francisco with her mother, father, and six brothers and sisters. She is currently attending her third year at Abraham Lincoln High School where she is averaging a 3.67 GPA, cheerleading and is the president of her homeroom. Jennifer's dream is to become a famous actress in Hollywood someday, and she is taking all of the right steps to achieving her dream. Jennifer enjoys listening to all types of music from hip-hop, R&B, rock, and pop. Jennifer says "Acting and dancing is my life and if I'm not doing them I'm not living." |

Name: Barry Graves Jr. Talents: Acting, Writing, & Producing Contact: www.myspace.com/8279333 Barry Graves, Jr., born and raised in the Bay Area, has always been a performance artist and student of the arts. He began his writing and performance career in acting, Hip-Hop and poetry in elementary school and has been on a roll since. In 2000, he made his mark as an author of a book of poetry entitled, Young World, expressing the troubles, trials and triumphs many youth face around the globe. In 2005, Barry joined Colored Ink's production of The Streets Have Re-Spoken, playing the role of Anthony, a troubled teen who commits murder, in hopes of being accepted and loved by his peers and the small world around him. It was a role, he described as, "raw... Saturated in the core of someone who has absolutely no reason to live, and sharing his life story with the world... A once in a lifetime experience!". His love and thirst for the performance arts is one that goes unquenched. As for his role as "Anthony", he comments: "We were made for each other. His story is one that deserves to be told and, as long as there's a stage to tell it on, I'll be there telling it. There's much we can learn from Anthony, the man-child, the martyr, the boy who just wanted to be loved." |

Name: Marquez Mozeke Talents: Acting, Dancing, & Rapping Contact: lisaIrios@aol.com Marquez Mozeke (8 Years Old) is a native of San Francisco; Marquez is African-American, French, and Mexican with Native-American descent. He began his acting journey at the tender age of 4 by taking classes at a Bay Area Acting School. Soon after, Marquez made his acting debut in a Colored Ink production entitled "Politrix" at the age of 5. He has since appeared in multiple Colored Ink productions such as "What if the streets could speak", "The Streets Have Spoken", and now currently acting in "Resurrected." He also performed throughout Bay Area events such as "Radical Performance Fest 2005" and has appeared on Bay Area Mornings with CBS. In addition to live theater, Marquez most recently appeared in a Sprint television ad, as well as a print ads for Mervyns, Leapfrog, and Pottery Barn. |
