resurrect

"Resurrected", 2006

Colored Ink's Act 1 abbreviated, in your face version of "The Streets Have Spoken" entitled "Resurrected." A piece that was intended to wake up the living dead who have been traumitized by the recent years of senseless murders. The piece went back to Colored Ink's original days of hard hitting short stories that left people in a daze.

fogtown

Fogtown Fables, 2006

A festival of San Francisco stories with a twist. The festival features other young local artists, all coming together in two evenings to showcase their talent and their truth about their city. Colored Ink debuted "Scam Fram."

PLAYBILL, 2006

An evening of one act plays written by young playwrights of the Brava Theater Center where Colored Ink acted out many of their stories.

slamming

Slamming The System, November 30, 2006

Imagine going to a poetry slam where the judges reflected the struggles in our communities, and the poets performing were competing to heal their hearts. Stop imagining and start being in the present.
Colored Ink's latest project "Slamming the System" is a slam that is designed to do what most slams don't: which is to reach people. With this event, people are not winning money for themselves, but are winning $ for someone else. We are giving artists a chance to perform their work in front of the people they often refer to in their poems; families of murdered loved ones, men just getting out of prison, young women in group homes, Katrina Survivors, and so forth. So if you've been slammed by the system, then SLAM with us. TRUE POETRY 4 THE PEOPLE
