

The Streets Have Spoken, May 20th-21st, 2005
A hip-hop theater play written by Colored Ink, is a relevant artistic production that cries out against the senseless violence that plagues our young brothers-sisters-friends--OUR CITY'S YOUTH. This play offers a unique peer insight, from the perspective of those directly affected by urban teen homicide and violence. Unlike the sensationalistic depiction in the media, THE STREETS HAVE SPOKEN is a heartfelt urban fable addressing what affects us all-regardless of which neighborhood we live in.

The Other Side, August 19th, 2005
This play deals with issues around environmental justice/racism and how the environment affects people individually, culturally, and globally. One of the aims of this play is to show the connection between the environment and human behavior.

Just Enough Love Left Over, December 1st & 2nd, 2005
On December 1st and 2nd, 2005, performers from Community Works' Shout it Out Young Women's Theater Ensemble, and Brava Theatre's Performance Workshop & Colored Ink presented "Just Enough Love Left Over" on Brava's main stage. Just Enough Love Left Over ties together work by a diverse group of contemporary writers to address how women struggle with, and find ways to overcome, issues like body image, homophobia, and sexual assault.

Abuse: A Great Way To Numb The Pain
This was a production based on how young women feel about the different kinds of abuse that they recieve from others, and the abuse that they put themselves through. It was a deep, emotional, journey into personal feelings, which struck a nerve through the audience members.
